Create Deal by Sending Email
You can
create a Deal by sending an email to
a pre-configured email address, e.g., dealbyemail@xyz.com.
It must be sent in a specified manner, as explained below.
1. Sender: The email must be sent from an existing email address in the system as a user.
2. Subject: There must be a valid subject. The rules concerning the Subject are-
- +Deal Name > If the email Subject is +Deal Name, the Focus field value will be checked Yes while Deal creation.
- -Deal Name > If the email Subject is -Deal Name, the Focus field value will be checked No.
- Deal Name > If the email Subject is Deal Name, the mail must include attachments to add documents.
3. Body: The email body should contain the
mandatory info required to create the Deal and should be sent in a specified format. A colon should
separate the field name and field value.
E.g. [Field Name] : [Field Value]
- Deal Name :
- Deal Sector :
- Deal Sub-sector :
- Description :
- Type of Investment :
- Deal Currency :
- Total Funding Requirement (m) (OR Total Requirement) : etc.
4. Rules: While writing the body section, follow the following
rules:
- The date must be only in yyyy-mm-dd format.
- The Field Value sent in the body section should match the required field names on the screen, or we can define aliases in a backend table with OR.
- If a folder is not specified, all attachments shall be saved in the Default folder.
- If a field name does not match, it shall be ignored.
- If a Field Value does not match the specified picklist values, it shall go to the comment section.
- The Deal shall be assigned to the email sender if no Assigned To group is specified.
- Email can be in both normal and bulleted format. Both are acceptable.
5. Notifications: A notification mail shall be sent
to the email address which was used to send the email, for informing the
successful creation or failure.
